Privacy Policy
ScapeCalc collects as little as it can. There are no accounts and no forms, and ScapeCalc sets no cookies.
Updated October 24, 2026
In short
- Page views are counted without cookies, through Cloudflare Web Analytics.
- Your shopping list and settings are saved in your own browser, not sent to ScapeCalc.
- If you email ScapeCalc, your address and message are used only to deal with your message.
- ScapeCalc does not sell or share personal information, and shows no ads.
Page-view analytics
ScapeCalc uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. Cloudflare says it does not use cookies or local storage for this and does not fingerprint visitors. It records which pages are visited, the referring site, and the visitor's country and type of device. ScapeCalc cannot see who you are from this data.
Hosting
The site is served by Cloudflare. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical data such as your IP address to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. See Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Data kept in your browser
Your shopping list and preferences, such as your unit setting, last bag size and light or dark theme, are saved in your browser's local storage. They stay on your device and are never sent to ScapeCalc. You can delete them with the shopping list's Clear button or by clearing your browser's site data. If your browser blocks storage, the list works until you close the tab.
Share links
The calculator keeps your inputs, such as measurements and any prices you entered, in the page address, so a bookmark or reload keeps them. A share link carries them too, so anyone you send it to can see them. Like any web address, it reaches Cloudflare's servers when the page is loaded or reloaded. A shopping-list share link keeps the list after the # sign, which browsers do not send to the server.
If you email contact@scapecalc.com, your address and message are used only to read and answer it and to fix any error you report. They are never sold or shared.
Messages to contact@scapecalc.com are received through Cloudflare Email Routing and forwarded to a Gmail inbox, so Cloudflare and Google process them in transit and in storage. See Cloudflare's privacy policy and Google's privacy policy.
Advertising
ScapeCalc shows no ads today. If ads are added later, this policy will be updated before they appear, to describe the advertising cookies used and how to opt out.
Children
ScapeCalc is meant for adults planning yard work and does not knowingly collect information from children.
Changes
When this policy changes, the date at the top of this page changes with it.
